Restoring a 1968 Porsche 911L

We made a trip to Part's Heaven in Hayward, CA to pickup some sections from a donor car. Part's Heaven is one of the hot spots in the SF bay area for used Porsche parts, bodies, engines etc.... It's like, well Heaven ;-) Anyway, we are continuing down are road of trying to finish the suspension pan in a timely manner.

Part's Heaven to rescue! Here is Rick and Ed lifting the rear clip he just bought into the back of my Dad's truck. You gotta love it. Yep, them is Porsche engines, hundreds of them. I love this place. Here is our rear clip that will provide metal for our rusted rear tray and B pillars.

Part's Heaven had some NOS tailight buckets that will replace our rusted out units nicely. Rick also purchased a front corner nose section that will provide our patch for the rusted section. Here it is with the rusted section cutout and preped for the new piece.

Here is Rick test fitting the new piece. Here I am welding in the new section. Here is the finished product. I was anal enough to reproduce the factory spot weld dimples with a die grinder ;-)
